Recently, several Great Danes have been rescued from a breeding operation in Union County, Florida and placed with the Brandywine Valley SPCA, writes Cherise Lynch for NBC 10 Philadelphia. 

The Brandywine Valley SPCA announced that 120 dogs and puppies, mostly Great Danes, had been seized from the Florida property. Eight of those dogs were transported to the BVSPCA West Chester campus after receiving medical care. 

Officials who rescued the pups explained that the animals were living in extremely unsanitary and unhealthy conditions. Most of the dogs were underweight and sick, having medical conditions that were left untreated. 

The dogs now must undergo a state-mandated isolation period of two weeks. The Brandywine Valley SPCA is looking for kind-hearted fosters to take in the animals during this time. After the isolation period, the dogs will be available for adoption. 

“Our everyday work doesn’t stop when we step up to help with large rescues like this,” said Adam Lamb, CEO of BVSPCA. “We need our community to join us in this emergency situation by fostering, adopting, and donating so that we can continue to care for the local animals who count on us every day, while we also welcome these eight dogs in need.”
