West Chester Native’s Energy Drink Becomes Phillies’ Official Beverage
The Philadelphia Phillies are the first team in Major League Baseball to sign an exclusive energy drink supplier, writes Michael Klein for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Ghost will offer three flavors of their smaller, 8.4-ounce energy drinks: the Original “OG,” Orange Cream, and Tropical Mango. The $6.29 cans will be sold at concession stands and kiosks throughout Citizens Bank Park.
The non-alcoholic energy drinks will also be served as a bar mixer and cocktail. As the official energy drink of the Phillies, Ghost will also offer samplings and special events throughout the baseball season.
Ghost co-founder, Ryan Hughes, is a West Chester native and grew up in a die-hard Philadelphia sports family.
“They’ve been my favorite sports team for a very long time,” said Hughes. “From the front office down to the players and the fan base, they embody the city of Philadelphia, which in a lot of ways parallels the brand that we’ve built and that kind of work-hard-play-hard mantra that we go by.”
Ghost is set to be the presenting sponsor of the Phillies’ “Strike Out the Stigma” initiative, which supports healthy life habits and mental health awareness. Monthly pregame theme night event will focus on mental health advocacy.
