Two steakhouses in Chester County have made the list of best steakhouses to try in the Philadelphia region, according to Jason Sheehan, Maddy Sweitzer-Lamme, and Christine Coppa for Philadelphia Magazine.

Steakhouses are the perfect restaurant to celebrate a birthday, promotion, or anniversary. And while there are plenty of modern and destination restaurants in America, you can’t go wrong with a classic steak menu.

This steakhouse in Phoenixville has served customers for over 300 years, dating back to 1736. The Seven Stars Inn has that traditional take on steak, but also knows how to party with seafood options such as scallops, lobster tails, crab, and sea bass.

Termed “the original Chester County steakhouse,” they take pride in their meats with items like New York Steak Strip, Cider Brined Pork Chops, and filet mignon with classic sides like potatoes, peas, fries, and broccoli. They also have a children’s and young adult menu available in addition to the regular main menu.

Newly opened in an equally old establishment is 9 Prime in West Chester. Once home to the borough’s 19th-century First National Bank, 9 Prime opened its doors in early 2024. With an Art Deco and neoclassical type of aesthetic, their food matches the decor well.

Their menu consists of steaks (of course) with “opulent additions” like bone marrow and jumbo shrimp available. They offer pasta, salads, and plates like burgers, roasted chicken, lamb chops, and mouthwatering side dishes.
