Renovations have been underway for months at the site of the future 9 Prime steakhouse.

Coming to West Chester in February, 9 Prime will be serving up Italian steaks, Mediterranean seafood, and pasta in the former First National Bank at 9 North High Street, writes Bill Rettew for The Daily Local News.

The 10,000-square-foot space is set to be a two-story restaurant with a bar, event area, a speakeasy, and can handle 300 seats. The decor will feature booths, leather, wooden and steel beams, and other luxurious details to make it unique and gorgeous.

Partners of 9 Prime are chef Fabio Viviani, Charlie Walsh, and John O’Connell. Viviani manages more than 50 restaurants around the nation.

Menu items include octopus, beet salad, Wagyu short rib pasta, lamb shank, lobster tails, cowboy ribeye steak, and more delicious eats.

9 Prime will be open for dinner, with brunch and lunch joining the scene later on.

The First National Bank opened in 1863 in the middle of the Civil War. By 1998, it was the 12th oldest national bank operating in the country. It was the leading national bank to do business in Chester County.

“They used to cut checks, now we’re going to cut steaks,” joked Viviani.
