A Harrisburg-based developer is hoping to build 266 market-rate apartments in Coatesville, writes Kenny Cooper for the WHYY.
The Planning Commission of the City of Coatesville will vote on the new project from Brandywine View Tri-Corner in June. If the project is greenlighted, the Brandywine View Apartments will become the first rental development to break ground in the city in over a decade.
Details about the project have yet to be released. Based on the parcel number, the property will be situated in northern Coatesville close to the north side of Coates Street and east of North First Avenue. The main listed address is 320 Adams Drive.
A preliminary plan submitted to the Chester County Planning Commission indicates that the project will consist of four buildings with multi-family units. A previous posting in the Construction Journal refers to the development as “new construction” that will have around 312 parking spaces.
The development could represent the next step in the ongoing revitalization of Coatesville. If it gets approved, it will most likely start construction this fall.
The next meeting of the planning commission will take place on June 12.
