Newtown Square native Armena Ballard is the Director of Marketing at CTDI, where she leads and develops the company’s corporate and U.S. marketing strategy.

“I oversee a team of five project managers and creative managers that support CTDI’s business units and corporate departments,” said Ballard. “This includes developing and overseeing branding, website strategy and development, overseeing the development of customer-facing content, social media strategy, and working with CTDI’s executive and leadership team on strategic projects. What I like most about CTDI is that I’m never bored — I’m always working on something new.”

Ballard, who recalls her first job babysitting as a freshman in high school, graduated from the Episcopal Academy and attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Hispanic Studies and a minor in Art History. She credits one of her former bosses with having the biggest impact on her career and still considers that person a mentor.

Ballard states that her proudest professional moment occurred in one of her first jobs after graduating college.

“I was working for a resort company and was the marketing team member tasked with launching a new resort brand in conjunction with a new resort,” she said. “Building a brand from the ground up was a huge undertaking, and the project spanned a year. Being fairly new to marketing, each step — managing video shoots, writing email copy, developing product guides, and unique selling points — was a learning experience. Not only was it an incredibly successful launch, it gave me the tools to succeed in other roles I’ve had since.”

Ballard’s favorite Chester County restaurant is The Whip Tavern in Coatesville.

Ballard and the rest of the 2024 Class of VISTA Millennial Superstars will be honored at the Awards Reception & Celebration on Thursday, May 9 at Penn State Great Valley.
