Coatesville Teacher Honored with Prestigious Citadel Heart of Learning Award
Tracey Parker, Child Development teacher at Coatesville Area Senior High School, was honored with the prestigious Citadel Heart of Learning Award this past Monday, writes staff for The Daily Local News.
Parker is a 10-year veteran of the Coatesville Area School District. She runs the preschool program at the high school to help teach students child development and how to interact and educate young children.
She is known for being warm-hearted and always encouraging students no matter what.
“Without Mrs. Parker, I wouldn’t be who I am today,” wrote an anonymous student. “She goes above and beyond for her students, and even as they graduate and move forward in life, she continues to remind them that teaching is not just a job but truly a passion.”
Thousands of submissions are entered to Citadel Credit Union each year from all around the Great Philadelphia area, and only a select few teachers are honored with being chosen. Parker has received $1,000 and a glass heart award for going above and beyond as a teacher.
