Lucca Ruggieri, a Great Valley High School senior, recently landed his dream job when he was hired as a campaign manager for Republican Neil Young’s campaign for Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District in November’s general election, write Wakisha Bailey and Tom Dougherty for CBS News Philadelphia. 

“I was hired as campaign manager for a congressional campaign, which has been incredibly exciting, ” he said. “As a political junkie, this is sort of a dream come true for me and it’s really an honor.” 

Chester County native Ruggieri, who formed the polling company called Patriot Polling last year with his partner, is now busy hosting campaign events for his candidate and sending out press releases. 

“He stands out obviously right away from a regular middle school, what an average middle school kid is,” said Young, who used to be Ruggieri’s teacher in middle school. 

His plate is currently full, as he is running a campaign while being just months away from graduating from the Malvern high school. However, Ruggieri is not complaining. 

“I just love politics,” he said. “It’s not even work for me, it’s a passion.”
