Gryphon Cafe in West Chester has handcrafted drinks, room for seating, and an inviting atmosphere.

Coffee is a staple in most people’s lives, so if you’re a java connoisseur seeking new places to try the best cup of coffee, check out these five coffee shops in Chester County, writes Ben Silver for Main Line Today.

Pour Richard’s Coffee Co. in Devon is a small-batch roaster that has been supplying the Main Line with perfected flavor since 2005. Run by colleagues Richard and Jean, this shop has a sustainable footprint that works with local farmers and all their packaging is recyclable and compostable.

The Malvern Buttery in Malvern is a buzzing cafe open from 8 AM to 2 PM every day, serving specialty drinks that change seasonally. Alongside the sips, they offer pastries, soups, salads, sandwiches, and more.

In Phoenixville, Steel City Coffeehouse & Brewery has two types of drinks for its two different personas. As a coffee shop by day, they offer everything from cold brew and espressos to lattes and teas. At night it transforms into a lounge with open mic nights and live performances. Of course, alcoholic beverages are served in conjunction with their food menus.

The Farmhouse Coffee & Espresso Bar in Downingtown has plenty of seating available while they’re open from 7 AM to 4 PM Mon-Sat. With rustic decor and even a drive-thru, their handcrafted drinks and food have won multiple awards.

Finally, be sure to stop by two of the Gryphon Cafe locations: one in West Chester and the other in Wayne. The former is always packed with loyal patrons enjoying well-made drinks and warm food. They offer a variety of pastries like almond croissants and biscotti as well.
