The Pennsylvania Department of General Services is expanding efforts to let small businesses know about state contract opportunities.

The Pennsylvania Department of General Services has increased its outreach efforts to help small businesses and small, diverse businesses apply for state contracting opportunities.

A new Notice of Forthcoming Procurements and a Notice of Forthcoming Construction Opportunities are sent out each month by DGS’s Bureau of Diversity, Inclusion, and Small Business Opportunities to more than 5,000 small businesses and small, diverse business advocates and stakeholders registered with the bureau.

Governor Shapiro and Lieutenant Governor Davis are changing the narrative around doing business with the Commonwealth and have set a clear goal to increase opportunities for Pennsylvania’s small and small, diverse business communities,” said DGS Secretary Reggie McNeil. “Consistent outreach to the small business community is critical in growing the number of small business vendors who participate in state contracting opportunities.”

DGS also joined forces with the Pennsylvania Department of State to ensure more small businesses and small diverse businesses are registered with BDISBO by changing pertinent business registration and amendment forms to allow filers to voluntarily submit information on whether their business qualifies as a small business, small diverse business, and a Veteran Business Enterprise.
