Paradocx Vineyard in Landenburg is a hidden gem, offering gorgeous sights, delicious food, and unforgettable wine.

Paradocx Vineyard is a winery in Landenburg that’s tucked away on a gorgeous piece of land, writes Emily Kovach for PA Eats.

The vineyard is co-owned by two couples – David and Carol Hoffman and Mark and Joanne Harris. The Hoffman and Harris families built Paradocx Vineyard on the idea of being stewards of the land; to carry the work throughout the vineyard into the wine-making process of the cellar.

While completing their medical residencies, the couples decided to take the leap. David Hoffman said, “We did have this feeling that in addition to practicing medicine, we wanted to do something agriculture-related. We bought this property, just over 100 acres, in 1994.”

The property is ideal land for the vineyard. The winery is in the warmest growing climate of Pennsylvania, the soil is well-drained, and the property slopes mostly southeast.

A visit to Paradocx Vineyard is a memorable one. Trisha Brown, General Manager of the winery, said, “We have a diverse wine menu because we know some people are looking for big, bold dry wines and some are sweet wine lovers, and we have both and everything in between.”

The winery also offers a selection of local and seasonal bistro-style food. The vineyard’s best-selling wine is the Barn Red, a semi-sweet selection that represents Pennsylvania wine.
