Jordan Kellier's family was flown out from Jamaica to see him play basketball for the first time in the United States.

West Chester University basketball program surprised Jordan Kellier on his senior day by flying his family in from Jamaica to watch him play, writes Joseph Santoliquito for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The 6-foot-5, 220-pound guard was in shock when he saw his parents, whom he had not seen in person in over a year. As soon as they reached the court, he folded them into his arms in tears.

Kellier came to the United States from Kingston when he was 16 to attend Redemption Christian Academy. He was recruited by University of Utah after a year of playing at junior college at Williston State. He later transferred to Siena University in New York. For his last year, he chose West Chester University.

Through it all, Charmaine and Lynden Kellier never saw their son play basketball in the United States. Until two weeks ago.

“I got a little emotional,” said his father. “ The West Chester team, the whole community, really took us in. It was amazing. It’s something we’ll never forget.”

The Kelliers also got to spend the weekend with their son and returned home with his framed No. 24 West Chester jersey.
