This Chester County town has been listed as one of the most memorable small towns in the Mid-Atlantic region, according to World Atlas

Nestled in the Brandywine Valley, West Chester displays beautiful architecture, with its classic Pennsylvania-Georgian style. In the heart of Downtown West Chester lies West Chester University, which brings school spirit and many events for students to enjoy. West Chester is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and it sure brings that historic charm, with its tall, brick buildings and excellent walkability. 

There is a deep political history in West Chester, particularly relating to Abraham Lincoln and his presidential run. A book about it was published in the Lincoln Building on West Market in 1860. Other historic spots of interest include the Chester County History Center and the West Chester Railroad.  

The ability to walk around West Chester with ease pulls a ton of foot traffic to the downtown area. There are a multitude of eateries, coffee shops, antique stores, gift shops, and more. With so much to discover, it’s easy to spend an entire day walking around and seeing the sights.  

For nature lovers, West Chester boasts many parks and trails, such as West Goshen Community Park and Everhart Park. The Natural LandsStroud Preserve is a must-see for any nature lover, as it’s a relaxing mix of grasslands, farmlands, and woodlands and is used for recreation, education, and research.
