Westtown’s Jessie Moses Fields Multiple Division I Offers As a Freshman
Westtown School freshman Jessie Moses is settling into her second varsity basketball season and is already fielding multiple Division I offers, writes Zak Wolf for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Moses started last season as an eighth grader, and the team won the Friends Schools League and Pennsylvania Independent School Athletic Championship. As an eighth grader playing with upperclassmen, Moses quickly learned how she could be the most beneficial for her team.
“I had to find something that other people maybe didn’t do as well to get on the court,” Moses said. “Just find the stuff that our team was missing so I could incorporate that in a game.”
After an impressive first season and a summer playing with the Philly Rise 15U team, Moses is poised for a stellar second season. With a feature on ESPN’s Class of 2027 HoopGurlz recruit rankings, she’s already amassed several Division I scholarship offers. Some of the schools hoping to add Moses to their lineup are Arizona State, Boston College, Michigan, Penn State, and more.
“It just pushes me to be better, knowing that I have a target on my back now with offers as a younger kid,” said Moses. “It also just feels good and that my hard work is finally paying off, so I feel like it’s good and bad at the same time.”
