Jim Perkins was able to take a trip of a lifetime to Nepal last year.

Jim Perkins, a 58-year-old Kennett Square area resident, took a trip to Nepal last year for a good cause, writes Richard Gaw for the Chester County Press.

When he heard his company, Computershare, was sponsoring a trip for 25 of its employees to raise funds for the World Youth International School in the Gokarna region of Nepal, he was happy to join his colleagues.

“I was all in from the start, and while I didn’t first comprehend the overall concept for the trip, young people have always been very important to me,” he said. “With four daughters of my own, anything I could do for the younger generations is going to better our world.”

In November, Perkins flew to Kathmandu, before taking a flight to the city of Pokhara two days later. There, he joined a hiking trek where he encountered some of the most gorgeous vistas he had ever seen.

With the help of several sherpas and guides, the group made its way through the Annapurna Himalayan mountain range.

During the trip, Perkins was also given a tour of the school and its important educational mission.
