Aqua Pennsylvania is replacing approximately 9,500 feet of aging water mains in Tredyffrin and East Goshen townships. The company is upgrading 8-inch cast iron water mains with new 8-inch ductile iron water mains, which are more durable and comprised of nearly 90 percent recycled metal materials.

This investment is part of Aqua’s continuing infrastructure improvement program to replace decades-old water and wastewater infrastructure around the country. The new water mains will reduce the potential for main breaks and discolored water and will improve water flow for customers throughout Chester County.

In Tredyffrin Township, crews are replacing 6,375 feet of aging 8-inch water main on the following streets:

  • Yellow Springs Road between North Valley and Yellow Springs roads
  • Salem Way between Yellow Springs Road and the end of the cul-de-sac
  • Salem Court between Salem Way and the end of the cul-de-sac

Crews are also working in East Goshen Township to replace 3,200 feet of aging 8-inch water main. The work is taking place on:

  • East Strasburg Road between North Chester Road and Springhouse Lane
  • Springhouse Lane between East Strasburg Road and the end of the cul-de-sac

Aqua’s main replacement work contributes to the company’s overarching commitment of providing quality, reliable drinking water and safe wastewater solutions to customers.
