Turks Head Wine is the newly opening winery business in downtown West Chester.

Wife and husband team Allison and Josh Owen made a major step toward fulfilling their business dream when they recently opened the doors on Turks Head Wine in downtown West Chester, writes Melissa Jacobs for Main Line Tonight.

The bottle shop supplies bottles of wine and various goodies like aerators and decanters that would catch any oenophile’s eye. The shop represents the first phase of the couple’s plan. The second phase involves the transformation of the space where the business is situated into a destination experience for wine lovers.

The second phase is expected to be completed in the summer of 2024. Once finished, the historical 10,000-square-foot building will boast a wine-tasting room and lounge, along with private tasting rooms and a classroom. Additionally, a VIP membership lounge will be available. In other words, the owners are creating a place they would want to frequent.

“We’ll offer a multitude of ways to interact with wine,” said Allison Owen. “The concept is similar to what California wineries offer, in that you go there to have a complete experience, including great wine, some education, and a lot of fun.”

They are collaborating with Kieran Robinson, the winemaker at RFive in Downingtown, to make their wines.
