These Local Thanksgiving Turkey Trots are a Great Way to Offset Meals, Give Back to Community

These turkey trots around Chester County are perfect for burning off some Thanksgiving dinner and giving back to the community by raising funds.

If you are looking for a great exercise activity to offset your Thanksgiving meal this year, join one of the many turkey trots being organized around the suburbs, including several in Chester County, writes Claire Chmiel for Main Line Today

The region’s annual turkey trot races are a unique local tradition that also offers a chance to give back to your community by raising money for people in need. 

The 21st annual Chester County Turkey Trot in Downingtown returns to help raise money for the Downingtown West High School cross-country team and the Cure4Cam Childhood Cancer Foundation. Races include a 5K race, a 2K race, and a kids’ fun run. 

Seven Summits Therapy 5K Turkey Trot and Children’s Fun Run in Wayne is celebrating its 15th anniversary. The proceeds benefit Hope 4 Hoey

Another Wayne race is the Wayne Turkey Trot. The seventh annual 5K benefits Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Radnor Township Police K-9 Unit, as well as Philadelphia Financial Scholars

Finally, Phoenixville’s Burn Off the Bird 5K is a 14-year family tradition that aims to ensure you have digested that hefty Thanksgiving meal.
