Peter Jones committed to Notre Dame with plans on upping his talent.

Peter Jones, a Malvern Prep football star, is ready to move forward with his career at Notre Dame next year, writes Aaron Carter for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The 6-foot-6, 296-pound right tackle impresses immediately with his sheer size. He had already surpassed 6 feet in sixth grade, which prompted his parents to keep his paperwork to hand.

“We did used to carry around his birth certificate,” said his mother, Jennifer Jones. “There were other teams who would challenge his age.”

But his size is only a small part of what makes one of the top recruits in the class of 2024 extraordinary.

Jones is known for his elite athleticism and near-fanatical approach to fitness and nutrition, along with his focus on studying the nuances of football.

“He is driven to succeed and driven to get to the next level and make a name for himself,” said Malvern coach Dave Gueriera.

But for now, Jones is focused on cherishing the time he has left with his Malvern teammates.

“There are [two games] left,” he said. “Don’t waste a play because you only have a certain amount left.”
