After being head coach of men's soccer at Drexel, Mark Fetrow has now taken over the team at Villanova.

West Chester native Mark Fetrow was named the new head coach of men’s soccer at Villanova University, according to a staff report from Villanova University Athletics.

Fetrow is a former Wildcats’ associate head coach who led Drexel to a 9-2-5 record in 2023 as its head coach. He is replacing Tom Carlin, who announced he was retiring from coaching earlier this week.

“To have the opportunity to pass this program on to Mark Fetrow, one of the top head coaches in the country, is a blessing,” said Carlin.

Fetrow was part of the Villanova staff from 2015 until last July when he left to coach Drexel. At Villanova, he served as associate head coach from 2019 until his departure. He was also the top assistant at West Chester University before his time at Villanova and was a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Penn State, for a year.

“I am elated to be named the next Head Men’s Soccer coach at Villanova University,” said Fetrow.  “I’m incredibly grateful to Mark Jackson, Father Peter, and the entire Villanova administration for their trust in me to lead the Men’s Soccer program.”
