Director of Marketing

Dunwoody Village is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and energetic Director of Marketing to join its team due to the pending retirement of a long-serving director.

The Director of Marketing is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing all phases of the marketing and admissions processes of independent living at Dunwoody Village.

This position is responsible for ensuring all advertising and public relations materials closely align with the Dunwoody Village brand and mission.

Qualified candidates should have a strong working knowledge and demonstrated success in managing the marketing/public relations efforts of an organization – a preference for experience in a not-for-profit CCRC is strongly desired though not essential. 

A successful candidate cultivates and sustains a team-based work environment, with keen attention being placed upon soliciting feedback from knowledgeable and affected stakeholders. 

The following is a non-exhaustive summary of important functions of the position:

  • Embodies and articulates the vision and mission of the organization inside and outside of the community.
  • Embraces, promotes, and upholds the Dunwoody Village Code of Conduct
  • Ensures that all advertising and public relations materials closely align with the Dunwoody Village brand and mission.
  • Works closely with the President and CEO, other members of the marketing team, and outside contractors/subject matter experts to evaluate the effectiveness of paid advertising. 
  • Researches and evaluates additional geographical target areas for future advertising.
  • Ensures that the marketing material is in compliance with local state and federal laws.
  • Develops and compiles a competitive analysis comparing Dunwoody Village with the surrounding competition for presentation to the Board of Directors.
  • Maintains occupancy requirements and meets the annual resale budget for apartments, country homes, and carriage homes.
  • Serves as an active participant in the admissions process. Maintains a priority list, working with the marketing staff to ensure that tours are scheduled promptly, guides prospective residents through the financial, medical, and insurance evaluation process, ensures that the unit turnover and move-in process is operating effectively, and ensures that new resident orientation is successfully completed.
  • Leads in a manner that consistently promotes collaboration, trust, openness, honesty, integrity, empowerment, and shared accountability for success.
  • Exhibits leadership and management skills necessary to ensure that the department provides exceptional service within and outside of the community.
  • Works closely with new residents and key personnel (i.e., the Director of Campus Operations, independent contractors, etc.) to ensure that the transition process to Dunwoody Village is running smoothly.
  • Works closely with the Dunwoody transition team to monitor resident moves from independent living through our continuum of care.
  • Tracks timely turnovers in units to ensure that they are available to prospective residents and keeps track of the priority list at all times. Keeps President/CEO, members of the Marketing Committee, and Board of Trustees informed of critical departmental activities.
  • Cultivates and maintains constructive communication with residents, staff members, contractors, and members of the community at large
  • Promotes a workplace culture that attracts, supports, empowers, and retains members of the department.

Our successful incumbent will have the following experience/education/credentials:

  • Minimum of an associate’s degree in marketing or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience overseeing marketing operations — with experience in healthcare/CCRC strongly preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of marketing, admissions, public relations, community relations, and real estate.
  • Strong management skills combined with a commitment to creativity that allows for continued improvement in quality, productivity, and financial position of the organization.

Full-Time Activities Assistant

Dunwoody Village Recreation Department is currently seeking a full-time activities assistant to work from Noon to 8 PM.

The Recreation Assistant is responsible for developing and implementing both group and individual recreation programs. 

Additional duties include:

  • Plan, develop, and implement group recreation programs such as exercise classes, word games, horticulture, arts and crafts, etc.
  • Inform residents of daily events and escort residents to and from group programs
  • Identify the individual abilities of residents and plan recreation programs to accommodate those abilities.
  • Maintain a daily record of resident’s participation in group and individual programs.
  • Assist the manager in evaluating the effectiveness of the program and the participation levels of residents.

To be considered for the job, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be able to work a weekend and holiday rotation
  • High School graduate
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Office, Facetime, and iTunes
  • Able to read aloud to a group and or individual
  • Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Organization & time management skills
  • Able to work both independently and with supervision
  • Cheerfulness, positive attitude, and the ability to motivate people.
  • Genuine liking and respect for the elderly, physically and cognitively impaired.

While we certainly prefer candidates with relevant experience in Long Term Care or the Recreation Field, we are happy to train motivated persons with a desire to work with older adults.

An employment offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-hire process that includes a criminal background check, a drug screen, COVID vaccination, influenza vaccination, and attainment of two favorable professional references.

Full-Time Painter

Dunwoody Village has a career opportunity available as a full-time painter. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM, but a successful candidate must be willing to work on-call during inclement weather to assist with snow/ice removal or emergency situations.

The successful candidate will have 2 years of related experience and enjoy working in an environment where providing quality care and service to older adults is paramount. Qualified candidates must have a valid PA driver’s license.
