Sanderson Museum in Chadds Ford Tells Story of One Man’s Passion for Music, History, and Art
The Sanderson Museum in Chadds Ford is overflowing with items that depict the story of one man’s life and the passion he had for music, history, and art, reports Dan Sheridan for 6ABC.
The museum is a true hidden gem in Chester County that has been standing there since 1967.
In addition to being a teacher, Christian Sanderson was a collector, a musician, and a historian.
“When you come to our museum you’re gonna see items that Chris collected over his lifetime,” said Charles Ulman, Curator at the Sanderson Museum. “We like to say that if you see it here, Chris thought it was interesting so we kept it.”
Among some of its many eclectic items are a pair of Easter eggs that date back to the 1880s.
“It’s the most unique museum I found in all the Brandywine area, ” said Jim Christ, a volunteer at the museum. “It’s not just focused on art, it’s not just focused on history, it’s not just focused on music but a combination of everything, including everyday oddities. That is so unusual to find.”
