The Malvern School, a prominent group of early education schools based on the Main Line, has been acquired by London-based Busy Bees, writes Lisa Dukart for the Philadelphia Business Journal.  

The group, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, has educated over 40,000 students across its 27 locations. 

Busy Bees is an international organization that operates over 200 childcare centers and has a substantial presence in the Northeast, including four outposts in Philadelphia. 

Malvern School’s CEO, Kristen Waterfield, will assume the title of president. The school’s staff and educators will remain in their roles, and the school’s name is expected to remain the same.  

The Malvern School provides year-round care for children as young as six weeks old through pre-K, in addition to offering kindergarten enrichment, after-school programs, and a summer camp for children as old as eight.  

“This acquisition opens up exciting opportunities for our schools, staff, and, most importantly, the children and families we serve,” said Waterfield.

“We are excited to join Busy Bees to provide an even more enriched experience for all of our stakeholders.”
