On October 28, Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center is welcoming singer-songwriter Jeffrey Gaines to the main stage. Jeffrey Gaines has been heralded on tours throughout North America and Europe, for his soul-searching lyrics and inspiring performances.

With only his voice and a guitar for accompaniment, Gaines has earned a loyal fan base as a captivating performer, selling out clubs and theaters since his debut album, “Hero In Me” in 1992.

Rolling Stone went on to call him “the voice of a generation” noting his body of work and his larger-than-life voice.

Raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, by soul-music-loving parents, he began his career playing guitar in local cover combos and rose from there to later play with Tom Petty, Tracy Chapman, Stevie Nicks, and Sheryl Crow.

“The biggest pleasure I derive from this is playing live”, Gaines notes. “There’s nothing more satisfying for me than a good live gig.”
