The Pennsylvania Treasury, with help from Downingtown auctioneer, started auctioning over 4,000 items from the vault on Wednesday.

Downingtown-based Pook & Pook is the host of Pennsylvania Treasury’s latest unclaimed property auction that started on Wednesday, writes Keith Schweigert for FOX43.

The two-day online event will feature over 4,000 items that were previously stored in the Treasury’s vault, including over a century-old baseball cards, jewelry, currency, and much more.

“Each unclaimed property auction showcases some unique and fascinating pieces that find their way to Treasury,” said Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity. “These auctions are a great way to get the word out about our unclaimed property program and to help make room for incoming inventory in our vault.”

Pook & Pook partnered with the Treasury for appraisal and auctioneer services. The entire auction is available on Pook & Pook’s website for interested bidders.

Among the valuable and interesting items available to bid on is a single lot of 25 early baseball tobacco cards, a 14K white gold solitaire ring with a 3.6-carat pear-shaped diamond, a 1908 St. Gaudens $20 coin, and an Oscar Mayer Weinermobile whistle.

Proceeds from sold items are closely documented by Treasury and will be available so that the rightful owner(s) can make a claim with no time limitations.
