Longwood Gardens will be hosting a dazzling display for visitors with a nostalgic twist to the holiday season, writes Andre Lamar for the Delaware News Journal.

The retro-themed installation, A Longwood Christmas, will debut on Nov. 17. Last year, the twinkling spectacle took 25 days to set up.

This year, half a million lights will brighten the gardens, with a 24-foot-tall tree at the center of the botanical splendor. Luminarias will surround the Italian Water Garden pools, and guests will walk through a 200-foot-long tunnel of lights.

As a throwback homage, a “Longwood Farms” truck from 1969 will be on display outside of the Peirce du-Pont house.

The indoor displays are nothing shy of encapsulating. An 18-foot tall rotating tree with vintage lights aims to enchant the onlookers.

Horticulturalists of Longwood Gardens have carefully curated living wreaths and orchid chandeliers. Guests can stroll through the Music Room, Historic Ballroom, and Grand Conservatory to see the thousands of flowers, shrubbery, and multiple trees on display.

Timed admission tickets are required, but they sell out fast during the holiday season. Daily slots are available between 10:00 AM to 9:30 PM.
