Two Chester County Quarterbacks Make List of Top Ten NFL Players from Pennsylvania
Two quarterbacks from Chester County have placed among the top ten NFL players from Pennsylvania, with one of them taking the top spot, writes Matt Benedetto for abc27.
The list was compiled based on weighted career approximate value (wAV.)
Exton native Matt Ryan took first place with a wAV of 146.
Ryan attended Penn Charter High School and continued his football career at Boston College. He was drafted in the first round in the 2008 draft by the Atlanta Falcons. During his 15-year career, he played for two teams: Atlanta Falcons and Indianapolis Colts.
Ryan is a one-time All-Pro, 2016 MVP, 2016 Offensive Player of the Year, and 2008 Offensive Rookie of the Year.
West Chester native Matt Schaub also made the list in ninth place with a 68 wAV.
He attended West Chester East High School and played collegiate football at the University of Virginia. He was drafted in the third round of the 2004 draft by the Atlanta Falcons.
During his 16 years with the NFL, he also played for Houston Texans, Baltimore Ravens, and Oakland Raiders.
