Top Dog Spirits, founded by canine-lovers, is serving its canned cocktails in a new distillery to the Kennett Square Community.

A canned-cocktail brand will soon call Kennett Square home with its new 2,500 square-foot distillery, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Top Dog Spirits currently offers four flavors, Greyhound, Whiskey Lemonade, Blood Orange Margarita, and Peach Mango Tea.

The brick-and-mortar distillery is set to open by November or December of this year. The tasting room is expected to open in 2024.

“We look at this as an operation that allows us to test new products… and then roll them out in our tasting room,” said founder Ken Smukler.

The tasting room will first serve as a retail space to sell packaged products. By September of 2024, Top Dog hopes to allow its customers to try new products in that room. They are also eyeing nearby restaurants to collaborate with.

The location is snugged beneath the BYOB live music venue Kennett Flash and is expected to hire around five to seven people for the operation once it opens.

Top Dog distributes its products to 40 liquor stores across The Keystone State and 90 bars and restaurants around the Philadelphia region.
