CCRES paraeducator Lorena Lopez has been working for CCRES for nine years at Bancroft Elementary School in the Kennett Consolidated School District in Chester County.

In her role as a paraeducator in the ELD Department, she teaches students the English language, reading, and math.

The principal at Bancroft Elementary describes Lopez as “a dedicated member of our Bancroft family.”

“She is loving and caring to all students and always makes personal connections to the students in our ELD program,” Leah McComsey said.

She described Lopez as someone who goes above and beyond to meet the student’s needs and to support teachers, carrying herself in a professional manner.

Lopez volunteers her time with the school’s Safety Committee, keeping an eye on safety issues, especially in the cafeteria and at recess.

“We are so lucky to have Lorena at Bancroft,” McComsey said.

“Hola! Since English is my second language, I also help to provide Spanish-translated services where needed at Bancroft,” Lopez said.

Her favorite part of the job is interacting with the students, learning about their lives, and supporting them in any way that she can.

“As an educator, it’s rewarding to know that you’re making a connection and a difference in the students’ lives and future,” she said.

When she’s not in the classroom, Lopez likes to garden, do house projects, go to the beach, and spend time with her family and friends.

CCRES is a non-profit human resources organization that partners with intermediate units, school districts, and behavioral health programs to provide support staff working with children and adults with special needs.
