Enforcement Officer

This position’s duties involve maintaining compliance of all enforcement action with state and federal regulations, ensuring that payments are received and all provisions are followed, and addressing questions and concerns regarding child and spousal support cases. Additional responsibilities include performing case management duties and assisting at special hearings.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field with at least 6 months of experience, knowledge of Pennsylvania rules of civil procedure, and the ability to interface effectively with county management. Candidates should preferably have experience in case management or interaction with the public and the ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.

Deputy Sheriff I

This position will protect the judge and courtroom personnel during criminal trials, maintain custody and control of prisoners, and process background checks for firearm permits. Other duties include completing prisoner extraditions and transports, completing detailed and accurate reports or reportable incidents, and performing other duties, tasks and special projects, as required.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and their Act 120 Police Academy training certification not more than five years prior to the employment date, or five years of law enforcement experience. Candidates should maintain firearms qualification and CPR and EMS provider-level certifications. Candidates should have knowledge of criminal and civil law and training in defensive and security tactics.

Probation Officer I

This position will supervise adult defendants who have been granted parole or probation by the court in order to prevent the client from re-offending and enforce compliance with court-mandated conditions. Other duties include maintaining contact with family members, victims, police departments, and other departments, collect fines, costs, and restitution, and also must be available for court appearances in order to verify or clarify information pertaining to the case.

The ideal candidate needs a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with at least one year of social services or criminal justice experience and basic knowledge of criminal justice terminology and court procedures. Familiarity with the laws and procedures concerning probation/parole supervision and excellent organization and time management skills are preferred, among other skillsets.
