‘We’re in This World Together’: Lights Festival in Coatesville Draws Thousands of Visitors

By

Thousands of people from all over the East Coast gathered on a 50-acre horse farm outside of Coatesville for the Lights Festival, writes Tom Kretchmer for 6ABC.

Many wrote a personal message on their paper lantern to loved ones and then released it into the night sky.

Some lit up lanterns with poems on them and many had wishes. Others had nothing written on them as their owners were simply there to enjoy the spectacle of the traveling festival.

According to Event Director Collin Maki, the event is all about unity and togetherness.

“We want people to realize we’re in this world together,” he said. “Each lantern is different. I want everyone to walk away with that feeling of unity, peace, and calmness.”
