Coatesville Invitational Vintage Grand Prix Returns in Two Weeks

When the ever-popular Coatesville Invitational Vintage Grand Prix returns in a few weeks, spectators can expect the debut of the first-ever Auto/Moto Show, along with the return of guest emcee Telemundo62 Sports Anchor Jaime Becerril and renowned motorsport commentator Bobb Rayner. 

The 7th Annual Coatesville Invitational Vintage Grand Prix will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, when thousands of spectators will flock to Coatesville for the rare chance to experience the thrill of watching up to 90 vintage automobiles and motorcycles dating from 1900 to 1983. Vehicles individually traverse a challenging 2-mile course that winds through the historic city streets of downtown Coatesville in one of the only remaining Grand Prix events in North America still run on city streets. Opening festivities get underway at 9 AM and the action runs through the afternoon. Becerril, an avid motorsport enthusiast, will appear from 10 AM to 11:30 AM. New this year, and adjacent to the course, is the first Annual Auto/Moto Show, sponsored by Brian Hoskins Ford and brought to you by Motor House Media.

he show will feature a curated selection of eclectic cars and motorcycles that will highlight their uniqueness, build quality, rarity, racing heritage and historical significance. The vintage Auto/Moto show is free for spectators, but display participants must apply for entry here.

Spectators can enjoy food trucks, vendors, downtown restaurants and shops, a lively Beer & Wine Garden sponsored by the Jeff D’Ambrosio Auto Group, and a soapbox derby for the kids, all just steps away from the start/finish line. General admission is free with excellent visibility along the entire course. Driver registration, which is managed by Brandywine Motorsports Club, remains open here.

Leading up to the main event is the PrixView Party on Thursday, Sept. 14 from 6 PM to 9 PM, hosted by CIVGP committee member Crosby Wood and his wife Nancy at their historic Brooklawn home and cohosted by the Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce.

This enchanting evening under the stars is a chance to mix and mingle with car and motorcycle enthusiasts, drivers and event sponsors, surrounded by an exclusive display of select vintage vehicles. Tickets are $70 each and include cocktails, light fare and music. PRIXview tickets are available here.

The Friday Evening Cruise-in returns on Friday, Sept. 15. Open to all car enthusiasts, this special evening allows non-competitors to cruise their classic vehicles through the city and preview the course. No entry fee or registration is required. However, all vehicles must be licensed. Parking for Cruise-in participants will be available along Lincoln Highway between 1st and 4th Streets where spectators can get an up-close look.
