Here are the Top-Ranked Chester County Public High Schools in the Philadelphia Region

Unionville High School is part of the Unionville Chadds Ford School District made the Niche list of the 2024 Best Public School Districts in Pennsylvania.

Chester County high schools made the Niche list of the 2023 Best Public High Schools in the Philadelphia Area. The ranking was based on an analysis of student and parent reviews and data from the U.S. Department of Education.  

The list considered state test scores, graduation rates, teacher quality, SAT scores, and high school ratings.  

Conestoga High School in Berwyn made no. 2 on the list for its state test scores and a student-teacher ratio of 16-1. 91 percent of students tested proficient in math and 92 percent in reading.  

Downingtown STEM Academy made no. 5 on the list. This magnet school has a student-teacher ratio of 14 to 1.  

Unionville High School in Kennett Square made no. 9 and Great Valley High School made no. 14.

Bayard Rustin High School in West Chester landed at no. 19 for its high rankings in academic performance, teachers, and extracurricular activities.  

Downingtown High School East in Exton made no. 33 on the list, also ranking in sixth place for the best public high schools in Chester County.

Other schools that made the list included West Chester’s Henderson High School at no. 34, Phoenixville Area High School at no. 42 and East High School at no. 45.  

Kennett High School ranked no. 47 and Owen J. Roberts High School was no. 48.
