The Chester County History Center will be holding Underground Railroad walking tours on multiple dates in July and August that are sure to educate and fascinate visitors from Chester County and beyond.

The Underground Railroad was a network of people offering shelter and aid to enslaved men, women and children on their journeys to freedom. This small-group walking tour will visit eight locations around downtown West Chester that served as a backdrop for the people involved in this clandestine operation.

The tour covers approximately 1.25 miles, lasts 90 minutes, and is entirely outdoors. The sidewalks and terrain may be uneven. Additionally, these events are rain or shine, so please dress for the weather.

Dates include:

  • Wednesdays: July 19, July 26, Aug. 2 from 6 PM – 7:30 PM
  • Saturdays: July 15, Aug. 5 from 11 AM -12:30 PM and 1:30 PM – 3 PM

Tickets are $15.00 per person and members can receive a 20 percent with code.
