The Alliance for Health Equity (The Alliance) has announced the appointment of Kevin Ressler to be the incoming President and CEO starting July 10, 2023. Ressler will be departing as the CEO of United Way of Lancaster County. Ressler holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Mennonite University in Justice, Peace, and Conflict Studies and a Masters of Divinity from Lancaster Theological Seminary.

Valerie Martin, Chair of the Board of Directors said, “The Alliance for Health Equity is delighted to welcome Kevin Ressler as its next Chief Executive Officer.  He brings a deep background in nonprofit management and a passion for his work and the community.  On behalf of the board and staff of The Alliance, we welcome him to the team and look forward to supporting his leadership as we all work together with our community partners to ensure that Coatesville is a healthy, equitable and thriving community”.

The Alliance conducted a national search for its President and CEO to ensure new leadership is strategically aligned with its mission and vision in health, equity, and resilience for a Greater Coatesville community. During Ressler’s tenure at United Way, he helped lead the organization into many new projects and initiatives such as Project SOS, a mutual aid effort involving COVID-19 stimulus check sharing; the Level Up & Launch community empowerment grants; and the recently revamped Project Blueprint, a training program which aims to create more equitable and inclusive organizational boards.

Ressler will continue The Alliance’s vision to advance a more equitable, resilient, and healthy Greater Coatesville Community focused on helping people live healthy and well, creating healthy spaces and places for people to thrive and leading positive community-driven change.  The Alliance remains committed to its Anchor Strategy: A place-based approach for Health Equity in Greater Coatesville Leadership Institutes, and strategic deployment of capital through grants and community investment.

“I’m very excited to join The Alliance for Health Equity. Coatesville borders Lancaster County where I have lived nearly my whole life,” Ressler said. “The similarities around structural and historic inequities are unsurprising and all too common across our nation. My background in conflict transformation, previous work in nonviolent communication, and most recently the opportunity at United Way of Lancaster County to think about convening spaces while honoring differing voices prepares me to join in the work The Alliance for Health Equity has already begun. I am deeply honored to have been selected to lead Alliance for Health Equity and look forward to learning from the community and working with the community to build together for a future we can all be proud to have contributed to birthing.”

The Alliance is committed to continue engaging the Greater Coatesville Community in building solutions. The Alliance will continue to do this through its community voice and designed solutions process.

Nicholas Torres, Interim CEO/President said, “I’m very excited to work and partner with Kevin, as the Chief Operating Officer, as we improve and integrate health delivery for Greater Coatesville residents, build new engagement and access platforms for Coatesville’s most vulnerable, and tackle living wage and affordable and stable housing challenges.”
