Habitat for Humanity of Chester County celebrated the one year anniversary of the Phoenixville ReStore with a successful sale event. On Saturday, May 20, the store offered most everything at 50 percent off and attracted a record number of shoppers.

Habitat was thrilled to have such an incredible response from the community during this celebration as many people came out to support its mission. In addition to discounted prices, the first 100 shoppers received a thank you gift and were entered into raffles throughout the day.

“The Phoenixville community has welcomed us throughout our first year of operation and we are grateful for the donations, shoppers, and volunteers for their support,” said Stacy Bagent, ReStore Operations Director.

The success of the ReStore supports Habitat’s mission by providing affordable options for home repairs and decorating. ReStores rely on generous donations from the community to fill stores with new and gently used housewares, furniture, appliances, tools, flooring, lawn and garden supplies, DIY materials, and more.

The Chester County ReStores are open to the public at two locations: 785 Starr Street in Phoenixville (open Wednesday—Saturday from 10 AM—6 PM) and 1853 E Lincoln Highway in Coatesville (open Wednesday—Saturday from 9 AM—5 PM).

This milestone event marks another step forward in fulfilling Habitat for Humanity’s overall strategy of helping people fall back in love with their homes while also promoting sustainable living practices. They work towards creating safe neighborhoods where families can thrive while using environmentally conscious methods that reduce waste during construction. Their vision is a world where everyone has access to safe and decent housing without being cost-burdened or homeless.
