Former Tonight Show Writer with Chester County Roots Behind Star-Studded Short Film
Mike Jann, a former Tonight Show writer with Chester County roots, and his wife Michele Jourdan, wrote the star-studded short film Bug Therapy that aims to help de-stigmatize mental health and therapy, writes Ben Silver for Main Line Today.
During his career, Jenn moved from Connecticut to the Philadelphia region to Hollywood.
Thanks to his experiences there, he managed to attract many celebrities to participate in his movie, including Jay Leno, Meghan Trainor, Dr. Phil, Tom Green, and Sterling K. Brown.
His journey started in Devon, where he worked for various advertising companies. Over the years, he lived in other places along the Main Line, including Paoli and Wayne.
His dream was to start writing for The Tonight Show, so he started faxing his jokes to the host, Leno. Among the many who did the same Jenn stood out and he later joined the staff full-time.
He wrote for the show for 24 years before he moved on, and started working on Bug Therapy. His script was endorsed by the National Alliance on Mental Illness, which made the making of the short much easier.
