LCH Health and Community Services is planning to open the Pia Center for Behavioral Health in West Grove to provide critical mental health services to the community, writes Holly Herman for the West Chester Patch

The initiative was made possible thanks to the generous contributions of Nancy and Michael Pia. The couple recognized the escalating mental health challenges within the Chester County community and the rising demand for care and were compelled to become part of the solution.

“Community is important,” said Nancy Pia. “Not everyone has the support of a family, and sometimes, the only connection to assistance and care is through the community. LCH provides that.”

Last year, LHC treated 1,041 patients in Chester County, with the demand for their services continuing to grow. The new Pia Center will specialize in treating anxiety disorders, PTSD, depression, ADHD, and substance-related disorders.

The company is currently recruiting mental health professionals for the center.

“Many of the patients that come to LCH face significant challenges,” she said. “The fulfillment you will get from changing someone’s life will be tenfold.”
