Saanvi Bhatia, a senior at West Chester East High School, is one of just 16 students in the state to be named a semifinalist in the 2023 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, according to a staff report from The Daily Local News

Nationwide, 628 semifinalists were selected out of more than 5,000 students.

The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program is now in its 59th year. It is one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon graduating high school seniors. Scholars are chosen based on accomplishments in various areas, including academic success and accomplishments in arts, career and technical fields, and leadership. Strong character and involvement in school and the community are also considered.

“Saanvi Bhatia has undoubtedly left her mark on East High School and our community,” said Principal Stephen Brown.

During her time at West Chester East, Bhatia was a National Merit Finalist and she also spent two years coordinating the school’s House of Hope Concert, among many other achievements.
