Malvern-based IMC Construction has a new face in leadership. After joining the team in 2017, Michael Lloyd has earned his spot as the company’s new president, CEO, and majority owner, writes Paul Schwedelson for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

IMC said they are “largest minority-owned commercial construction company on the East Coast.” Lloyd has his predecessor, Rob Cottone, to thank for his leadership style. Lloyd who used to work on Wall Street, says his previous work environments were not “people focused.” But it was Cottone who helped him shift that perspective.

As CEO, Lloyd wants to continue to expand opportunities for diverse subcontractors. He also wants to increase awareness of diversity within the company culture.

Lloyd is a Harvard Law School grad. He was a trader at Barclay’s Capital and a tax counsel for Chevron.

The construction company has offices in Malvern, Philadelphia, Edison and is planning for D.C. The company built a tower for Parkway Corp. in Philadelphia. It’s also working on a semiconductor specialty gases manufacturing facility.
