Rainbow Soap Company, opened by a mother and daughter team, Sherry Allen and Lindsey McGraw, is bringing safe and natural products to Kennett Square, according to a staff report from The Daily Local News

The business originated from necessity when Allen discovered that her baby daughter was allergic to red dye. Soon, she realized how omnipresent red dye is.

“It’s in shampoos, clothes, paint, body wash — everything,” she said.

So, Allen began making natural and organic bath and beauty products for her daughter. She even managed to find a way to make them pink and red without using red dye.

Three years ago, the pair decided to share their artisanal handmade soaps, lotions, and other items with the world through their new business.

They strive to ensure there is always something for everyone at their store. They now offer custom lip glosses to match every skin tone, vegan options, fragrance-free products, dog soaps, and much more.

“While many people think the store is geared to the feminine side,” said McGraw, “there are lots of products for men. And men love bath bombs!”
