Dogs Rescued from Tornado Pathway in Mississippi Welcomed in West Chester
Brandywine Valley SPCA has welcomed thirteen dogs who were rescued from tornado devastation in Mississippi to its West Chester campus, according to a staff report from The Daily Local News.
The dogs were transported from Amory Humane Society, whose shelter suffered huge damage while the animals were still inside. Luckily, no animals were injured.
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has issued a call to welcome pre-storm adoptable pets following the devastating tornado outbreak, and many shelters from across the country have stepped up.
An ASPCA van carrying 13 dogs from Mississippi who are looking for a new home arrived at BVSPCA’s West Chester campus last week.
“We began getting ready as soon as we saw the destruction left by the tornado outbreak and stand ready to continue our response efforts given the large scope of the devastation, and continuing outbreaks,” said BVSPCA CEO Adam Lamb.
The newly arrived pooches have already been evaluated by the BVSPCA medical team and are now available for adoption in West Chester.
“We need our community to join us in this emergency situation by adopting and donating,” said Lamb.
