Travis Geiser, who grew up in Le Raysville, a small borough in Bradford County, is the Sports & Events Sales Manager at the Chester County Conference & Visitors Bureau.

“My job is to host multi-day sports tournaments and events in Chester County that impact local businesses, restaurants, and hotels,” he said. “I manage all sales activities that include prospecting, client and sports facility relationships, marketing, event services, and developing partnerships. What I enjoy most about my job is the impact that I know it has on the communities in Chester County. The events that we host support businesses and jobs and influence infrastructure development that benefits visitors and our community.”

Geiser, who began working when he was 16 years old on the grounds crew at Lake Bonin Campground, earned a bachelor’s degree in Sport and Recreation Management from Temple University. He credits Courtney Babcock, the bureau’s Director of Sales, with having the biggest impact on his career.

“Her leadership and guidance have helped me further develop as a manager and leader amongst my peers,” he said. “She allows me to be creative, strategic, and develop a vision that places Chester County as a top sports tourism destination in the country.”

Geiser’s proudest professional achievement was hosting the USA Archery Target Nationals and U.S. Open in 2022 and 2023 in Malvern.

“It took three years of developing relationships with the facility, local archery club, and internal event services, which led to a successful bid and hosting of this event,” he said. “Last year’s tournament broke multiple records, including the attendance record for this event, and the world scoring record. This year, Chester County will also be hosting the first qualifier that helps select Team USA Archery for the 2024 Olympics.”

Geiser’s favorite Chester County restaurant is The Couch Tomato Café in West Chester.

Geiser and the rest of the 2023 Class of VISTA Millennial Superstars will be honored at the Awards Reception & Celebration on Thursday, May 18 at Penn State Great Valley.
