Chester County Hospital (CCH) has been recognized by Newsweek and Statista, Inc. as one of the World’s Best Hospitals in 2023.

The hospital is ranked as the 76th best hospital in the United States out of 414 institutions. Of the 27 Pennsylvania hospitals making the Best Hospitals list, CCH is ranked fifth best. This is the fourth consecutive year the hospital has received this designation, making CCH the highest-ranked community-based hospital in Pennsylvania.

Each year, Newsweek partners with Statista Inc., a global data research firm, to grade hospitals worldwide on four primary data sources – hospital recommendations from medical experts, patient experience, hospital quality metrics, and Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) implementation. Hospital recommendations are sourced via an international online survey of over 80,000 doctors, hospital managers, and health care professionals. Patients worldwide completed surveys measuring their satisfaction with the hospitals where they received care. At the same time, the quality metrics are based on data surrounding quality of care for treatments, hygiene measures, patient safety, and staffing. PROMs implementation scores are based on an online survey that evaluates the implementation and use of PROMs in hospitals.

“It brings me great pride to work within a hospital that houses the “World’s Best” healthcare providers,” said Michael Duncan, president, and CEO of CCH. “We are committed to one mission which is to be the leading provider of care in the region and a national model for quality, service excellence, and fiscal stewardship.”

The annual Newsweek World’s Best Hospitals ranking, now in its fifth year, recognizes the best healthcare institutions across 28 countries: USA, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Italy, United Kingdom, Spain, Brazil, Canada, India, Australia, Mexico, The Netherlands, Austria, Thailand, Switzerland, Sweden, Belgium, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Israel, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, and Taiwan.
