Two Kennett Seniors Will Be School’s First to Play College Football at Division I Level
At Kennett High School, two seniors will be playing football at the Division I level for the first time in the school’s history, writes Richard Gaw for the Chester County Press.
Ryan Barker is headed for Penn State, while Connor Tuk will continue his education at West Point. Both students will be met with a significantly different experience when they hit the field for the first time. They will be surrounded by tens of thousands of fans and spectators as opposed to the about 1,500 they are used to playing in front of.
Barker committed to Penn State as a preferred walk-on last year. He said he is mentally prepared to face the pressure of a Big 10 schedule and huge audiences at Penn State.
Meanwhile, Tuk is looking forward to going to West Point and participating in perhaps the most-storied rivalry in college football.
“I chose West Point because it is a prestigious school, and as far as football, you can’t get much bigger than the annual Army-Navy game,” he said.
