Black History Month is the perfect time to spotlight some Black-owned restaurants in NBA cities, and Philadelphia has eight that are especially notable, writes NBA.com:

Amina is an Old City restaurant offering amazing Southern and Nigerian dishes, including peppery peri peri sticky wings.

Cluck and Gills on Germantown Avenue is a fast-food restaurant that offers finger-licking meals, including favorites such as Shrimp -N-Chips, Chicken Sandwich, and Crabby Cheese Fries.

At Down North Pizza on Lehigh Avenue, you can try some of the tastiest pizzas in Philadelphia, while veteran-owned Farina Pasta and Noodle on S. 17th Street in Center City has delicious, customizable pasta and noodle dishes which the owner drew inspiration from his studies in Italy.

Irie Entrée on Chestnut Street in University City offers a mouthwatering taste of Jamaica, while Lokal Artisan Foods on the Cherry Street Pier specializes in French toast bites that will satisfy the most demanding palate.

Ma Lessie’s Chicken & Waffles at the Reading Terminal Market serves up tasty ribs and crunchy fried chicken, and other favorites.

Pretty Girls Cook in Northern Liberties offers bold and beautiful flavors while celebrating the strengths of women.

South Jazz Kitchen serves southern heritage cuisine in Philadelphia’s Spring Garden neighborhood.

48th Street Grille in West Philadelphia offers Jamaican and Caribbean specialties alongside burgers and pasta.
