A Haven, an Exton-based nonprofit dedicated to helping children who are grieving the loss of a loved one, will hold its annual Community Breakfast on Tuesday, Feb. 28 from 8-10 AM at Estrella Tacos Y Mas in Downingtown.

Tickets are $30, and all proceeds support grieving families in Chester County.

This gathering is a great opportunity to enjoy breakfast and coffee, network with local businesses, and learn how A Haven’s mission unifies the community. It is meant to celebrate those who have been a part of A Haven’s journey and cultivate new partnerships for its future.

“Our goal is to make our work come alive,” said Michelle Noble, the nonprofit’s Executive Director. “We want to showcase how the generous donations from our supporters benefit grieving children and young adults.”

A Haven works to give resources and empower families to walk through grief together, therefore utilizing a family-centered approach. Overall, research shows that the No. 1 factor that determines how a child grieves is how the parent/guardian grieves. Communication and a healthy environment can also lessen the burden of grief.

A Haven focuses on equipping adults to lead their children through grief in a trust-building way and navigate grief together. Registration is available here.

Additionally, A Haven will have their next open house on Wednesday, March 8 from 8-10 AM.
