2022 VISTA Millennial Superstars: Kristen Pell

By

Kristen Pell, who grew up in Solebury Township in Bucks County, is the Family Services Director for A Haven, an Exton-based nonprofit that provides grief counseling and support for young children and teens.

Pell, who began working as an activities assistant at an assisted living home when she was 18 years old, earned a bachelor’s degree in Painting from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. She’s currently studying for a master’s degree in Art Therapy and Counseling at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.

She credits Magdalena Schatzmann, a job coach whom she met through a previous employer, with having the biggest impact on her career.

“Magdalena encouraged me to find my voice, trust my instincts, and speak up,” said Pell. “These lessons have impacted my life and career in countless ways and continue to impact my work.”

Her proudest professional achievements are connecting grieving families with support, through her work at A Haven.

“What I love most about my job is connecting with families,” Pell said. “It’s an honor to hear their grief stories, learn about their loved ones, and accompany them in their grief journey.”

Her favorite Chester County restaurant is Sly Fox Brewhouse & Eatery in Phoenixville.

Pell and the rest of the 2022 Class of VISTA Millennial Superstars will be honored at the Awards Reception & Celebration held outdoors on Tuesday, May 10 at Penn State Great Valley. The in-person event will feature food trucks, drinks, touchless registration, a VIP tent, and boundless opportunities to network. It will also be live-streamed.

Sponsors are still being sought. Click here to learn more about the various opportunities available to partner with VISTA Today as it celebrates Chester County’s next generation of leaders.
