Chester County Hospital offers numerous virtual wellness events throughout February. Each event covers a different topic to learn about and may give you answers you’ve been looking for. Here is part one of the events below. Register for events here.

Exercises for Pregnant and Postpartum Women    

Feb. 1, 2023, 6 – 7 PM

Women can benefit tremendously from moderate-intensity aerobic activity during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Join a physical therapist to learn how to improve strength and mobility during pregnancy, reduce symptoms of postpartum depression, and alleviate mild-to-moderate incontinence. 

Is Your Heart In Jeopardy? 

Feb. 3, 2023, 1 – 2 PM

Come to this presentation to learn if your heart is at risk. Get heart disease prevention strategies and check your heart-related knowledge by playing a round of America’s favorite quiz show, Jeopardy! 

Mental Health First Aid

Feb. 3, 2023, 8:30 AM – 4 PM 

This is a Chester County Suicide Prevention Task Force collaboration. This training will give you the skills needed to help another person who is struggling with a mental health or substance use concern or crisis. Learn how to reach out and provide initial support to someone and help connect them to appropriate care.

Preventing Cancer: Identifying Risk Factors

Feb. 6, 2023, 6 – 7 PM

February is National Cancer Prevention Month. It is estimated that 40 percent of cancer cases in the United States are associated with preventable risk factors. This presentation will review cancer risk factors and provide strategies to modify behavior to reduce the risk of developing or dying from cancer. 

Struggles and Solutions

Feb. 6, 2023, 5:15 – 6:15 PM 

A registered dietitian will lead a discussion on an interesting, timely and immediately useful topic about food, activity and wellness. Program provides ideas and encouragement for anyone on a journey to lose weight or begin to live a healthier lifestyle.   

Exercise As Medicine: An Adjunct to Your Cancer Treatment and Recovery

Feb. 7, 2023, 12 – 1 PM

Research shows that exercise can help decrease cancer related fatigue and anxiety, improve your quality of sleep as well as increase your energy level. Join us to learn how to start where you are, do what you can and keep moving through and after treatment. 

Better Breathers Support Group 

Feb. 8, 2023, 2 – 3 PM 

This program is organized by the Pulmonary Rehabilitation team, includes educational presentations by healthcare professionals, and provides support and camaraderie for people living with chronic lung disease. 

Cardiac Med Review with a Pharmacist   

Feb. 8, 2023, 6 – 7 PM

Cardiac medications are used to treat high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and other heart conditions. They also help manage symptoms and reduce the risk of a heart attack, heart failure and stroke. Join this presentation to learn what heart-related medications do, how to take them safely, and how to recognize possible side effects. 

Nutrition Matters Lunch & Learn Series

Feb. 8, 2023, 12:30 – 1 PM

Join the Chester County Hospital Nutrition Team for a series of informative lunch-time nutritional talks via Zoom. 

Heart-Healthy Cooking: Full Flavor and Less Guilt!  

Feb. 13, 2023, 6 – 7 PM

The Mediterranean diet is a heart-healthy eating plan based on the traditional cuisines of Greece, Italy, and other countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea. Learn from Celebrity Chef and Cookbook Author Eric Theiss how to make a complete Mediterranean meal even healthier using an air fryer!
