Have you ever seen a UFO? If so, you’re not alone.
Pennsylvania ranks No. 7 among the states where people report the most UFO sightings, writes Carl Borg for Outforia.com.
While extraterrestrial life and/or visitations may be unexplained, people will still look at the stars to find answers.
Data compiled from the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC) showed which states have the most UFO sightings, and what kinds of appearances people report.
There are numerous types of visual phenomena, with the most popular being light. Light appearances make up 27,760 of all the reports.
“Some skeptics have suggested that these lights are passing planes or satellites … (but) these reports are for bright lights that don’t make conventional sense given what we know about the weather and human technology,” wrote Borg.
Additional unnatural appearances include fireballs, disks, circles, etc.
So far, more than 4,592 unidentified mysteries have been reported by Pennsylvanians, which is about 35.3 occurrences for every 100,000 people.
Residents all over the state report on the NUFORC website, writing small summaries of their UFO sighting: the area, data, and what shape it was. Sightings from more populated areas like Pennsylvania also contribute to the number of UFOs per state.
